DISPLAY BOARD/PRESENTATION
The display board is an extension of your project. The board should be creative and neat, but not distracting from the purpose of the project and presentation. All information that you place on the board should be large enough and in a proper font for easy reading. Your log book, research report and project paper should be at your display. The research report and project paper should be neat and without errors.
The board itself should have the title of your project, objective, your name, project summary, and a summary of your conclusion. Graphs should also be displayed on the board, (at least two). If you have multiple graphs, pick two to three to display and place the rest in a binder for the front of the display. You might also want to include a picture of your project as it was being completed. You may have other items at your display; however, there are rules that you must follow for what can and cannot be at the display. The rules can be found at: http://www.societyforscience.org/isef/about/rules_regulations.asp.
The presentation of your project should be no less then five minutes, and should not last more then ten minutes. The purpose of the presentation is to explain your project and answer any questions that the judges might have. When doing the presentation, follow this simple format:
- Introduction
- Greeting hand shake
- Your name
- Your grade
- Your School (when at District or State)
- Introduction of the Project
- Title of your Project
- How/Why you picked your project
- Brief explanation of Research
- Describe your project
- Tell objective
- Tell hypothesis
- Talk about procedures
- Talk about results (use graphs to explain)
- Talk about log book
- Explain conclusions (use graphs to explain)
- Ask for questions
- Answers all questions the best you can. Remember it is acceptable not to know an answer (but do not use words like "I don’t know"). Also, remember not to make up answers.
- Thank judges for time and for judging
