Ms. Shoup attended St. Brigid School and graduated in 1968. She was a music major at the Conservancy of Music in Cincinnati and received her Bachelor of Arts in Performance in piano with a minor in Organ and Conducting. She began playing the organ in 1963 and played daily masses for the school and Sunday Liturgies. She was Music Director and teacher of music at St. Anthony Parish in Dayton prior to coming to St. Brigid. Ms. Shoup composed the Catholic Schools' Song for the the National Convention in Cincinnati, has published compositions, and recently won the St. Brigid School Distinguished Graduate Award.
Currently, Ms. Shoup teaches music education, history, and vocal classes at St. Brigid, and she is the Director of Music for Liturgy. Her students present two major concerts at Christmas and in the spring. Under her direction, the 8th grade class annually presents a musical in the spring, and she is Music Director for the Parish Community Theatre Players of St. Brigid. In her spare time, Ms. Shoup plays piano at parties, reads, paints, and composes music.
